Linux: Vibration in video games with the Gulikit KK3 Max NS39 gamepad

If you have the Gulikit KK3 Max NS39 controller for PC and the vibration isn’t working on your Linux, I have managed to get it to vibrate as follows in Steam.

For any video game you install, apply compatibility with PROTON experimental.

We will NOT connect the gamepad via bluetooth, we will connect it using the included Wifi dongle that comes with the controller.

Put the controller in Wifi pairing mode.

Connect the Wifi dongle to your computer and pair it by holding down the dongle’s button for a few seconds until it starts blinking, then hold down the controller’s sync button for a few seconds until it starts blinking. Once paired, they will stop blinking.

Now, open any game and if it supports vibration, it will work without issues.

The important thing is that the game starts with PROTON experimental and the controller is connected with the Wifi dongle.

If either of these two requirements is not met, the vibration has not worked for me.

What about in other games or emulators? Does the vibration work?

I haven’t tested it yet. But it will be necessary to check in other non-Steam games whether vibration works better in bluetooth mode or Wifi mode.

Write in the comments if you have managed to get it working on other systems.
